Many things have changed since the 1930’s, when Dillard House Stables offered trail rides for fifty cents. However, the beauty and tranquility of the mountains remains the same. Another thing that remains unchanged is the famous Dillard House tradition of southern hospitality.
Pam Thompson, owner-operator of Dillard House Stables since 1989, along with her crew of experienced trail guides strive to keep the tradition alive. Pam’s lifetime of experience with horses and 25 years in the “Trail Riding” business allows her the opportunity to offer a safe and enjoyable horseback ride for every level rider.
We have rides to fit the beginner to the experienced. There are trail rides and the river rides. Dillard House Stables is one of the only stables where you will be able to actually ride down the middle of a river. It is exhilarating and thrilling as you and your horse take that first step into the river. You’ll be hooked for life and want to come back time and time again.
All persons taking rides need to be aware of certain requirements to create a safe riding environment for all involved. Call the stables or go to the website for more information.
