The Appalachian Gallery, specializing in custom framing and interior design, is locally owned and operated by Curt Haban. The store also features original art and prints by area artists, in addition to signed Georgia Pottery, home décor accessories, custom floral arrangements and gifts. The store utilizes the latest in custom computerized mat design equipment to frame everything from kindergarten creations to the work of renowned Rabun County artist, Mary George Poss. After retiring from hectic careers in Atlanta, Curt and his wife, Tammy, returned to Rabun County to enjoy a more relaxed way of life. “I like this business because of the creative aspects, plus I enjoy providing a product that enhances our customer’s lives,” says Haban. His mother, Nancy Haban, and her twin sister Netty Nixon, are responsible for design and home décor. Curt says he is grateful to have two such talented ladies handling the creative aspects of the business. After 24-years of successfully serving Dillard and the surrounding area, the Appalachian Gallery recently opened a second location in Clayton, Georgia.
